Privacy Policy

Welcome to SpendItTraveling.com, where we joyfully spend the inheritance before the kids get it, but don’t worry, we’re far more careful with your personal data than we are with our travel budget.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to Mire Business Services, Inc., a U.S.A. Chapter S-Corporation registered in Texas that owns and operates this website.

By using this site, you agree to the terms below.

1. Who We Are

Mire Business Services, Inc.

2. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to all visitors to SpendItTraveling.com and covers:

  • What data we collect
  • How we use and store that data
  • When it may be shared
  • Your privacy rights, including options for California visitors
  • How to contact us with questions

Our website is rated G, accessible to all ages, and does not knowingly collect information from minors beyond what’s automatically collected when any visitor browses the site.

3. Information We Collect

A. Information You Voluntarily Provide

We may collect personal information when you interact with our site, such as:

  • Name and email address
    • Newsletter sign-ups (future feature)
    • Contact form submissions (future feature)
    • Optional profile fields if leaving comments

At this time, we do not actively collect or store this data, but our policy covers our planned functionality.

B. Comments

If you leave a comment on a blog post, WordPress collects the data shown in the comment form, your IP address, and browser user agent to help detect spam. We do not use this data for marketing and do not sell it.

C. Automatically Collected Data

We use:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Search Console

These tools may automatically collect:

  • Pages visited
  • Browser type
  • Referral source
  • Device type
  • General geographic region

We do not collect or store IP addresses or device identifiers ourselves, although some analytics tools may process such data anonymously or in aggregate.

D. Cookies

We do not currently use a cookie banner or consent management platform. Standard WordPress and analytics cookies may still function to:

  • Keep comment forms convenient
  • Measure site performance
  • Understand which posts travelers enjoy most

You can disable cookies through your browser at any time.

4. How We Use Collected Information

We may use the information we collect to:

  • Improve website content and functionality
  • Respond to messages (when contact forms are enabled)
  • Send newsletters or updates (when launched via Substack)
  • Understand visitor engagement
  • Keep our website secure

We do not currently sell or trade personal data. We enjoy affiliate commissions, but not data trafficking.

5. Affiliate Links & Advertising

Affiliate Links

SpendItTraveling.com participates in affiliate programs, including:

  • TravelPayOuts (active)
  • Amazon Associates (planned)
  • Additional travel-related programs (future)

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may track your visit for purchase attribution.

Affiliate links never increase your cost.
The seller pays us a small commission so we can keep traveling…and keep our children mildly concerned about their inheritance.

Advertising

We intend to partner with Mediavine in the future. Their advertising network may use cookies to deliver personalized or contextual ads. When implemented, their privacy policy and consent tools will also apply.

6. Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on services that help operate our site safely and efficiently, including:

  • Hosting: Linode by Akamai
  • Security / CDN: Cloudflare
  • Backups: Linode full-disk backups
  • Email Newsletter (future): Substack
  • Embedded widgets: TravelPayOuts (future)

These services may process or temporarily store data as part of normal operations. We only share information necessary to run our site.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for operational purposes or until you request deletion. Analytics data follows default retention periods set by Google.

Comments remain on the site unless manually removed.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We only share data with:

  • Hosting and security providers
  • Affiliates when you click their links
  • Email/newsletter providers (when launched)

These services use the data strictly to perform their functions.
